Thousands of men, women and children are living on the streets of Orange County right now. They don't have a place to live - or hope in their future.
The Orange County Rescue Mission's Village of Hope is the nation's most comprehensive transitional-living facility for homeless individuals and families. It's the first place in Orange County where homeless families can stay together, while transforming their desperate lives and finally find hope.

Together, with the Orange County Rescue Mission, you can join us in providing more than just a roof over their heads and warm meals to fill their stomachs.
The Orange County Rescue Mission is very fortunate to have diversified funding streams and many loyal donors. However, as the local economy continues to struggle with job and housing losses and the continuing rise in unemployment, we see the effect in both a rising demand for assistance with the basic necessities of life (food, shelter and clothing) and a corresponding decrease in charitable giving. Over a seven month period, the number of calls for information on the Village of Hope program increased 300% while core funding declined 24%. In order to ensure the vitality of all of its programs during this economic downturn, the Rescue Mission has frozen staff salaries, eliminated two staff positions and is being fiscally conservative at all levels of the organization.
What began with a few friends in Coto de Caza volunteering their time and raising money for the Orange County Rescue Mission's Village of Hope has now expanded to include several neighboring communities and local businesses. This one-of-a-kind community provides families a safe environment during difficult times. Through the efforts of friends, neighbors and countless contributors, the Coto Community for Hope has donated over $1.5 million to the Village of Hope.
1 The Coto Community for Hope purchased a large 30-seat passenger bus for the children to go to camps, parks, recreational and cultural programs.
2 We provided music, art and educational supplies for the new Child Development Center.
3 We have finished several family room suites including the furniture, games and recreational equipment for children.
And finally, we are using the funds to continue to help change lives at the Village of Hope by providing much needed food for the cafeteria and assisting in the operating costs of the facility.
